ARTIST STATEMENT

My work finds roots in science and technology, and in the historical evolution of humanity's persevering quest to find answers to our most primal questions about the purpose of life and its course, while solicitous about the increasing fragility of this advancing civilization due to the almost absolute dependence on complex electronic digital forms, computers and internet.

As such, my work concerns intellectual concepts around the strong geometric variance of circular and linear form. Often minimal and monochrome, the focus is on subtle instabilities of light and shadow against texture, depth, media, color.
Contemporary abstract and minimalist in aspect, sometimes suggestive of Italian Spazialismo, the treatment of various media is equally drawn from enduring art historical tradition as well as innovative experimentation.
